Herbie: The Love Bug (1969)
His owner returns Herbie, and now Herbie is standing in the showroom of Peter Thorndyke’s Car Agency for Sale. Peter doesn’t like Herbie and isn’t happy with Herbie back in his showroom. When Herbie finds that Jim Douglas stood up for him against Peter, he thinks Jim is a nice man and wants him to be his owner.
Herbie sneaked out of the car agency and followed Jim to his home, which makes Peter think that Jim has stolen the car. To settle the matter, Jim decides to buy Herbie. When a couple in a hot rod challenges Jim to a race, Jim learns about Herbie’s abilities and decides to enter him in racing.

Herbie is living with Mrs. Steinmetz and Nicole Harris. Willoughby Whitfield wants to construct a new building, but Mrs. Steinmetz and Nicole Harris disagree with leaving their house, and Herbie manages to befriend him.

Herbie, Jim Douglas, and Wheely Applegate travel to Paris to Participate in Trans-France Race. In Paris, two jewel thieves hide a priceless diamond in Herbie’s tank. Further, Herbie falls in love when he sees a beautiful Lancia named Giselle.
Herbie now only thinks about Giselle and has completely forgotten about the race. When Jim and Douglas learn about Herbie’s situation, they plan to lie to Herbie about Giselle dumping him. Meanwhile, Jewel thieves are looking for Herbie to get their diamonds back.
