On the order of Queen Clarion, Fawn helps a baby hawk return to its rightful home. During her journey, she finds a massive creature lying down. Fawn notices the beast and quickly learns that the beast is trying to move some rocks for building purposes.
When a scout fairy notices everything, she goes to the library where she learns that the creature Gruff awakens about once every millennium and can destroy the entire Pixie Hollow.
